CEO, Tigua Inc.


Chris Munoz is the Chief Executive Officer for Tigua Inc., a Tribally owned corporation founded in 2008 by the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo of El Paso, TX.
Mr. Munoz is also a proud Tribal Member of the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo. He oversees the corporation and its six subsidiary companies, of which four are SBA 8(a) Certified Tribal companies focused on servicing a broad range of federal government contracts and services.
Mr. Munoz oversees the daily operations of Tigua Inc. and is responsible for the strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and corporate business plans to insure the longterm growth and sustainability of Tigua Inc.
As CEO, Chris’ vision for Tigua Inc. is rooted in his commitment to the advancement of his Tribal Community’s economic, educational and social needs. The history, perseverance and resilient nature of his Pueblo is the foundation on which Chris’ vision is built on.
Chris holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Texas El Paso (UTEP). Since coming onboard Tigua Inc. in 2011, Mr. Munoz began working to expand the Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo’s Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program — which entailed restructuring Tigua Inc’s. business portfolio in order to maximize the corporation’s business strengths, identify new markets and leverage new opportunities.
These initiatives focused on a longterm strategic plan, new corporate management, training and development, branding, marketing, and customer relations. The collective restructuring efforts resulted in unprecedented revenue growth and a significant market expansion.
As a result Tigua Inc. has substantially grown its Military / Government contracts, developed new IT / Telecommunications capabilities, expanded Facilities Management and Maintenance Services, brought on a new Transportation and Logistics Services, to increase it’s business revenues of $7 million in 2010, to over $50 million in 2017.
Christopher Munoz is the recipient of the 40 under 40 Award from the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED). As a Tribal member, Mr. Munoz actively participates in community action programs that benefit the Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo.
He serves as the Chair of Education for the Tribe’s Higher Education Program. This dedicated program provides guidance and assistance to all Tribal Members as they pursue higher education, professional certifications and other pathways to career success.
